Role Overview:
The Non-Destructive Testing Lead Engineer is responsible for advancing and optimizing specialized manufacturing processes used in GE Aerospace engine part manufacturing. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of NDT methods, including programming, equipment usage, and process execution. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure quality standards are met and will be responsible for maintaining project management and quality documentation. Additionally, the engineer will support field-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, get benefit of the lean tools and implement corrective actions at our shops and suppliers. Position is located at Gebze, Kocaeli office.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop NDE inspection techniques for aircraft engine composite and metal parts.
- Validate and transition NDE techniques to production inspection sources.
- Collaborate with design and materials engineering teams to assess inspection requirements.
- Provide technical support to sourcing organization in the interest of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Trouble shoot and provide other types of technical support for NDT facilities.
- Support definition of engineering NDT specifications to ensure quality while enabling new technology introduction and addressing root cause corrective actions.
- Clearly document and communicate inspection results to colleagues and customers.
- Support team related issues/project with design, materials, repair engineer groups and comply with aviation quality standards for part conformance.
- Support field related issues/projects, root cause and corrective actions at suppliers including those resulting in a quality escape.
- Become a Certifying Agent and Auditor in the area of NDT processes.
- Maintain the quality requirements of the projects covering the project management and quality documentation.
- Plan and execute machine & equipment calibrations, maintenance and tests.
- Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
- Be located at Gebze, Kocaeli Office.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams. They should be a proven self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Prior experience in aviation industry standards, such as NADCAP requirements, and hands-on knowledge of NDT processes will be highly advantageous.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Masters degree in engineering is a plus.
- Minimum of NAS410 / EN4179 Level 2 Certification, with documented certification records on Ultrasonic or Radiography inspection is desired.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant hands-on experience on NDT related role
- Knowledge on NDT modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to customer service and high quality.
- High level of written and oral communication skills in English.
- Knowledge on statistical analysis tools. 6 Sigma Greenbelt/Lean Applications.
- Knowledge on CAD programs (Unigraphics or other)

- Prior knowledge of aviation specification / NADCAP requirements
- Ability to operate NDT processes in aviation industry.
