Role Overview:
The successful candidate will:
- Learn current GE Aerospace in-house developed CNC post-processor structure and modernize for next generation
- Drive standardization in CNC post-processors structure
- Work with Siemens to drive GE Aerospace expectations
- Participate in on-machine debug process if needed
- Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range engineering needs
- Provide technical consultation on product problems throughout the business including supplier and field support
- Lead and provide the key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact
- Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, apply, adapt, or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs
- Support other GE businesses, internal and external customers, and suppliers as required
- Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and
- presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, and training to new and experienced engineers, specialists, technicians, and co-ops.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled engineer with expertise in CNC post-processor development, Siemens NX CAM programming, and controller systems, demonstrating strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to driving innovation and standardization
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Developing CNC post-processors with Siemens NX Post Builder, NX Post Configurator and handwritten tcl posts.
- Good level of written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Large scale, multi-site CNC post-processor support
- Fanuc, Sinumerik and/or Okuma controllers
- Extending TCL with C/C++
- Siemens NX CAM programming of complex aerospace parts (turning, milling, multi-task machining etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with on-machining probing macros integration in CNC digital kits (Renishaw, Blum, Siemens etc.)
- Aware about Teamcenter usage/navigation
- Aware about Siemens NX Machine/Tool Library structure
