Job Summary:
Senior Medical Advisors (SMA) embody our medical mission in becoming a trusted, agile partner who engages in influential dialogue and delivers timely, high impact data and insights that advance the science or accelerate access, shape medical practice and drive appropriate adoption of BMS medicines.
The SMA role is a blend of field-based and office-based time; the proportion depending on the life cycle for the compound/therapeutic area of responsibility. It is anticipated that a SMA fulfilling their internal and external duties will also spending time in the field with external customers. SMAs will perform their activities in an ethical and compliant manner, in adherence with all BMS policies and external laws and regulations. The SMA is responsible to actively engage with Thought Leaders and to serve as the Therapeutic Area (TA) reference point within their geographic scope. The SMA is responsible to design, develop and deliver the medical plan in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Participate actively in price and reimbursement prework, discussions, negotiations with government bodies in the different therapeutic areas based on the collaboration with the local partners. Support the development Brand Strategies in collaboration with BMS commercial and cross-functional teams, by communicating medical insight and knowledge about the product or disease area, in particular with reference to patients' needs and treatment trends.
SMA is also responsible to lead and develop the MSLs as the direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:
External Environment and Customer Focus:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with top thought leaders (TL) and access stakeholders. SMAs will use various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentation; remote, etc).
- Effectively present information to TLs, as appropriate, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.
- Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in products, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
- Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organizations to be actioned in support of the strategy development.
- Role model in developing and maintaining peer to-peer relationships and close contacts with TLs.
- Provide strategic input into the development of brand plans, develop and execute local medical plan and TL interaction plans.
- Deliver scientifically meaningful medical program proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities
- Identify potential speakers for BMS educational programs and ensure that these speakers receive all necessary product and disease state training.
- Deliver scientifically meaningful medical programs proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities to support overarching medical plan execution.
- Discuss and deliver Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) evidence-based information reactively (ie, to government agencies, healthcare organizations, and payers), as appropriate.
- Lead cross functional collaboration within matrix teams to ensure appropriate embedding of the medical perspective and aligned focus in key critical execution to achieve overall medical strategies and objectives.
- Represent medical as a key reference point for internal stakeholders
- Manage/lead and develop the MSLs in his/her reporting line.
- Contribute to the development and review of medical content within promotional and nonpromotional materials (as appropriate, consistent with the promotional and non-promotional BMS procedural documents and/or local codes), according to local resource and requirement.
- Contribute to and coordinate the development of the medical / scientific sections of pricing and reimbursement files.
- Contribute to the development of scientific publications or presentations, as appropriate.
- As necessary and appropriate, may support the initial and ongoing medical/scientific area and product specific training and provide key scientific updates to internal stakeholders (Commercial, Regulatory, OR, PV, Legal, HEOR, Market Access, etc).
- Support interventional and non-interventional research (NIR) studies (including input on study feasibility, identification and assessment of potential study sites, facilitate BMS and investigator activities, and conduct site visits to support patient recruitment and/or discussions around the safe and effective use of BMS investigational products, as appropriate and in agreement with local medical management.
- Provide recommendations and insights on study and site feasibilities within the therapeutic area based on knowledge of the field and through direct contacts with potential investigators, as appropriate and in agreement with local medical management.
- Ensure that BMS Pharmacovigilance procedural documents are understood and applied by investigators of local studies, and alert appropriate BMS personnel to any identified adverse events.
- Medical doctor/Pharmacist, with experience in oncology or with a broad medical background from a pharmaceutical company.
- People/team management in a pharmaceutical company.
- At least 3 years of experience in medical affairs function in a pharma company.
- Fluency in Turkish and English
