The location of the role: Bilecik-Söğüt, Türkiye
Your position
As a "EHS Specialist", you will report to our Plant Manager in Sörmas Plant. The main responsibility of this position is to work collaboratively with our diverse teams to assess, develop, and implement EHS strategies, making it essential for the specialist to adapt to different environments and industries while maintaining a consistent focus on safety and environmental excellence.
Your tasks
In addition, your tasks will include;
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, fostering a positive attitude towards EHS across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure that the EHS policies of the customer are being followed.
- Provide on-site EHS training and education to clients, employees, and contractors, emphasizing best practices and safety culture.
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, training, incidents, and recommendations, and prepare comprehensive EHS reports for clients and management.
- Conduct comprehensive EHS assessments and audits to identify potential risks, hazards, and compliance issues and develop strategies and recommendations for risk mitigation and hazard control, focusing on preventing workplace incidents and accidents.
- Develop, maintain and update H&S documentation of the company in compliance with legislation and company guidelines, including fire safety and emergency preparedness

With your great enthusiasm and creative mindset, you bring new ideas to the table, not only as an individual but also together with your colleagues. You work well in cross-functional teams and are not afraid to take responsibility and make decisions. With your hands-on mentality, structured approach and analytical skills, you proactively seek to improve the status quo. You see change as something positive, can adapt quickly and you like to courageously help shaping the future of RHI Magnesita in Türkiye.
Your profile
Education and skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety / related Engineering / Science field and or equivalent HSE experience
- Certification as lead auditor of ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001
- A Class HSE Certification is required
Languages
- English and Turkish – Proficient/Fluent
- Any other language will be considered an asset
Work Experience and Knowledge
- Several years of HSE experience industrial environment with progressing responsibilities
