Role Description
We are looking for a IP and Compliance Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- TÜRKPATENT Patent Attorney Certification.
- 5-10 years of experience in intellectual property, patent filings, and IP portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of PCT, EPC, Turkish Patent Law (6769 Industrial Property Law), TRIPS Agreement, and other relevant IP laws and treaties.
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Expertise in IP databases (EPO Espacenet, WIPO Patentscope, USPTO PatFT) and tools like Orbit Intelligence, PatSnap or Derwent World Patents Index.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Description:
- Proactively evaluate new ideas from R&D teams to determine which innovations should be patented and ensure the strategic expansion of the company's patent portfolio.
- Manage patent applications and filings in various jurisdictions (Turkish Patent, PCT, EPO, USPTO) ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
- Conduct competitor patent analyses and monitor for potential infringements to mitigate legal and financial risks.
- Stay updated with national and international IP laws and regulations to ensure the company’s IP remains protected and compliant.
- Collaborate closely with research and development teams to facilitate the protection of new, innovative ideas.
- Provide internal training and consultations to enhance understanding and cooperation in IP processes across departments.
- Develop and implement IP strategies that support the company’s long-term growth and competitive advantage.
- Leverage expertise in relevant legal frameworks (WIPO, EPC, national laws) to guide the patenting process.
- Utilize patent databases to conduct prior art searches and ensure thorough patent research.
