This Istanbul-based role offers coverage across Central and Eastern Europe. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in compliance and ethics, particularly experienced in managing risks related to anti-bribery, fraud, and corruption (AFBAC), supply chain, cultural nuances, whistleblowing, control environments, and records management.
The position is part of WPP's Business Integrity team, situated within the Legal function. The successful candidate will report to the WPP Compliance & Ethics Director, EMEA, based in Paris. This director, in turn, reports to the WPP General Counsel, Corporate Risk, located in London, who ultimately reports to the WPP Group Chief Counsel.
What you'll be doing:
In this pivotal role, you will drive WPP's commitment to business integrity across Central and Eastern Europe by:
- Championing Compliance: Partnering with the EMEA Compliance & Ethics Director to embed WPP's business integrity program and Policy Book throughout the region, ensuring alignment of resources, systems, and processes.
- Providing Expert Guidance: Serving as a primary point of contact for day-to-day compliance, ethics, and risk queries from our CEE businesses, and supporting remediation efforts where necessary.
- Proactive Risk Management: Identifying emerging concerns and root causes, then developing and recommending effective solutions and remediation actions to strengthen our control environment.
- Navigating Regulatory Landscapes: Monitoring and communicating regulatory changes, actively influencing WPP businesses to champion integrity and adhere to the WPP Policy Book and Internal Control Framework.
- Empowering Through Education: Assisting in the design and delivery of engaging business integrity training programs for WPP staff.
- Ensuring Accountability: Supporting information gathering and preparation for regulatory or legal requests, and contributing to the completion, review, and evaluation of local risk assessments.
- Fostering Collaboration: Working seamlessly with Corporate/HQ and network departments to achieve shared objectives.
- Upholding Standards: Conducting thorough investigations into whistleblowing reports and alleged breaches of the WPP Code of Business Conduct, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and codes within the region.
- Contributing to a Culture of Integrity: Undertaking additional tasks as assigned to further enhance WPP's ethical framework.
What you'll need:

- Problem-Solving Acumen: A proven ability to identify, analyse, and resolve complex issues, developing viable recommendations even without a pre-defined program.
- Impactful Communication: Strong written and verbal presentation skills, capable of delivering results effectively within a commercial environment.
- Investigative Expertise: Experience in conducting investigations, including knowledge of chain of evidence procedures and maintaining the utmost confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Exceptional Organization: The ability to effectively manage and prioritize a large, varied workload, consistently achieving positive outcomes.
- Professional Foundation: A background in legal or compliance/ethics, or qualifications desirable.
