What awaits you in this role?
We are looking for a passionate Lead - Legal Counsel (Data Privacy) who will join us at Legal & Compliance Directorate in Beko Corporate.
- Provide direction and guidance to all teams on various complex data privacy projects,
- Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions on data privacy,
- Oversee data privacy compliance from a global standpoint,
- Support the implementation of Beko Global Privacy and Data Protection Compliance Program,
- Provide legal advice on various privacy and data protection issues, including compliance with the KVKK,GDPR and data protection laws of other jurisdictions,
- Assist business units with understanding the Technical and Organizational Measures (TOMs),
- Implement and update privacy related procedures, best practices, and guidelines,
- Monitor changes in global Privacy & Data Protection laws and work with business to address these developments,
- Assist the Global Data Protection Officer in monitoring compliance with applicable laws and Beko Policies,
- Assist the Global Data Protection Officer in the event of regulatory audits, complaints and investigations,
- Provide advice on Records of Processing, Data Protection Impact Assessments and Transfer Impact Assessments.
The position is located in İstanbul, Sütlüce.
How do we describe the perfect match?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law and CIPPE and CIPPM qualifications are must needed
- Multinational experience is desirable
- Minimum of 5 years in the practice of law in a high-quality law firm or in-house environment, and beexperienced legal professional with a full understanding of privacy and data protection legal issues (KVKK and GDPR)
- Strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex data privacy questions relating to various business matters
- The ability to use creative problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a pragmatic and sound manner
- Competence in coordination and organization issues
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English
- Flexible and open to new perspectives and diversity
- A great team player with a self-initiative mindset
