We are looking for a Technical Regulatory Senior Specialist for Turkey & MEA, within the team Global Nutrition & Wellbeing and Technical Regulatory. The role will report to the Techical Regulatory Senior Manager EMEA.
Job Purpose
Provide the latest knowledge of food regulations related to products, ingredients, safety criteria, health and nutrition claims, and other claims applicable to foods across the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, leveraging external regulatory experts. Support the application of regulations through active participation in business projects, identifying regulatory risks and opportunities, and in the labelling process, as content owner and approver of mandatory on-pack labelling requirements. Provide regulatory guidance for market expansion initiatives in MEA and Turkey.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor regulations on food, supported by external regulatory experts and databases, and inform the organization about all emerging regulatory changes in the countries of direct responsibility
- Release regulatory opinions on products, ingredients, communication, highlighting all the necessary regulatory requirements and opportunities for MEA and Turkey
- Support the teams, such us Marketing and RD&Q, to develop mandatory information on packs, following regulations’ evolution in each country
- Serve as the content owner and approver for mandatory on-pack labelling requirements, ensuring compliance with local regulations in MEA and Turkey
- Create and update the nutrition labels for Barilla products sold in the region of competence, ensuring compliance with each country's regulations
- Ensure the release of the preliminary Regulatory Feasibility Analysis for new markets/categories to support importation efforts in MEA
- Manage the relationship with the local product distributors to guarantee successful entries in new markets and the launch of new products
Requirements
- 1+ years in Research, Development & Quality, preferably with experience in Regulatory topics
- Master's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Good knowledge of food science
- Ability to read food regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in an international environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and deal with strict deadlines
- Open to business trips to different locations
