Government Relations Manager
The purpose of this role is to strategically lead and coordinate government relations efforts—building key policy relationships, monitoring and shaping tobacco excise tax and regulatory developments, and collaborating internally—to ensure efficient regulatory compliance while protecting and advancing the company’s business interests.
The position is based in Ankara, and will be reporting to Corporate Affairs & Communication Director.
Position:
As the Government Relations Manager, you will:
- Develop and execute government relations strategies to promote company goals and objectives. Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers to advocate company positions.
- Understand government’s tobacco excise tax policy stance and contribute to internal analyses for preparing the company positions. Engage with relative government agencies to convey and promote company positions to realize/meet business objectives..
- Monitor and anticipate legislative and regulatory activities with respect to possible industry related regulations.
- Prepare and keep updated the strategic stakeholder map and engagement plan in order to execute effective engagements.
- Submit all applications to relevant government agencies. Follow up the review/appraisal process of the applications on daily basis and engage to ensure timely and affirmative results.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in FMCG, regulated industries, public sector, or government relations
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Turkish
- Proficient with digital tools and software packages
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Excellent commercial insight and business acumen.
