Job Description Summary:
The Coca-Cola Company is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Competitive Strategy to lead our efforts in analyzing market trends, assessing competitive threats, and formulating strategies that ensure sustained competitive advantage. This role is pivotal in guiding our strategic direction and influencing decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
Competitive Strategic Planning:
- Enhance Long Range Plans by strategically prioritizing "where to play" decisions through a comprehensive competitive lens, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and maximizing competitive advantage
- Identify key market opportunities and potential threats, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership across key monthly and quarterly routines
- Lead and facilitate competitive gaming in partnership with franchise strategy to stress test and drive actionable strategies to optimize annual business planning
- Lead key OU competitive strategic projects as identified by the Strategic Intelligence Snr Director
Competitive Insights:
- Conduct regular comprehensive analysis of the competitive landscape, including key players, emerging threats, and trends
- Develop detailed competitive profiles and benchmarks, evaluating competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
- Work with system including Global, OU and franchises team to ensure alignment on data, insights and opportunities.
- Partner and collaborate with finance to build robust competitive financial insights with clarity across the P/L to guide the business across investment choices
Competitive Data, Tools and Capabilities
- Be the business owner of competitive dashboard and identify in collaboration with platform services and Integrated Insights Director opportunities to enhance data and tools
- Partner with external agencies and global to regularly bring the outside in and share knowledge across the system
- Standardize competitive gaming approach and application
Key Requirements
- Strategic Problem Solving & Data Literacy: Strategically connect competitive assessments with the company's vision and direction, leveraging advanced data literacy to transform diverse internal and external data into insights that drive competitive advantage.
- Insight to Action: Synthesize complex insights through a holistic approach to define strategic direction, effectively translating competitive insights into actionable business solutions.
- Strategy Execution & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leaders to align and deploy competitive strategies, prioritizing efforts and engaging key stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Use strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to foster collaboration across the network, deploying advanced communication techniques to influence stakeholders with storytelling.
- Strategic Prioritization: Utilize a pragmatic, fact-based approach to prioritize tasks, managing competitive trade-offs and balancing immediate and long-term objectives.
Experience
- +10 years of experience in several Business Development roles, such as Strategy, Marketing, Business Planning, RGM, Insights, and/or Finance.
- Essential experience: experience in Strategy, Data & Analytics related areas.
- Preferred multi-market experience in FMCG or Management Consultancy (Retail/FMCG facing), profound understanding of the beverage industry and competitive dynamics
Travel requirements:
- Up to 10% of travel required
