Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled, driven, and adaptable Python Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing medium- to high-complexity products and services using modern Python-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct system analysis, assess risk, provide estimations, and develop technical designs and implementation strategies.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for product issues or defects.
- Develop high-quality Python code, write unit tests, and conduct code reviews.
- Collaborate with product owners and end-users to define requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable, and operations-friendly features.
- Create and maintain detailed software specifications based on requirements.
- Work closely with developers, quality engineers, and product managers throughout the SDLC to ensure quality at every stage.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, a comparable program, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software development experience, primarily with Python.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Recent hands-on experience with Python and popular frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles (OOP, SOLID, design patterns).
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and strong SQL skills.
- Familiarity with message brokers/queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud technologies; AWS preferred.
- Strong Linux knowledge and command-line scripting skills (Bash, Python).
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience in bioinformatics or healthcare IT is a plus but not required.
